The Story

Earth Chick began as a type of meditation during a stressful time of caring for my husband and myself.

Growing up in a Christian home I learned the importance of being spiritually aware starting at a young age.  I learned to find peace and purpose.  My parents taught me the importance of taking care of my body with exercise and enjoying the healthy, natural foods that were put here for us.  I was taught the importance of downtime to refresh and empty my mind of clutter and reconnect my mind with my soul.

I was taught the affect my actions, both verbally and physically, could have on the environment around me.  I learned the effect my actions could have on the plant kingdom by taking care of all the plants in our family flower shop.  I learned the effects my actions could have on the earth when fishing with my parents and practicing catch and release, and not littering the beautiful water we were so lucky to be fishing in.  I learned the effects my words could have by interacting with my siblings, either making them happy or sad.

As I grew I learned of the energy in crystals and began meditating with them.  I truly learned the importance of meditation during the hard times my husband and I went through, a kept those thoughts and continued meditating through the good times.

I learned the importance of the nutrients plants give to the human body from ingesting them.  I learned the importance of the nutrients plants give to the human body from just being with them.

When I began drawing as this type of meditation, I instantly was drawn to the beauty of the female body, the importance of a woman’s strength and my love for the Earth and everything it has to offer; from rain to snow, from beautiful clouds to the flow of a river, from the brightness of a blooming flower to the incredible spider webs on the trails I walk.

I am Earth Chick, just as every other woman who lives in this crazy world we live in.

We are all Earth Chicks.
